This installation by UK based jeweller Susan Cross has occurred as part of the Manukau School of Visual Art's International Workshops series.
Cross describes her work as "Drawing and collage underpin my creative activity as a jeweller. I handle materials intuitively; this fuels the development of ideas, often in direct response to the making process. Gold and silver, usually in the form of wire, provide the basic dialogue, whilst combining and contrasting textile related materials offers a greater freedom of expression and spontaneity. Silver is oxidised black, likening it to the drawn graphite or inky line. Linear structure, texture and transparency are all qualities with which I am fascinated."
